Bangkok To Host “Shaping The Future Of Lighting & Design” – A Landmark Conference For Architects And Designers
With the rapidly urbanizing and developing of smart cities in Southeast Asia, the “Shaping the Future of Lighting & Design” Conference fueled by the ASEAN Light + Design Expo 2025 is instilled with the potential to become an important hub for architects, lighting designers, and professionals in the built environment across Southeast Asia. This no-charge, two-and-a-half-day conference will take place from 17th – 19th September 2025 at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre, Bangkok and will be held in conjunction with a large expo showcasing more than 300 Brands and attracting around 4,000 industry people.
The conference is designed to be a dynamic forum for collaboration, innovation, and looking ahead to the future of lighting and together, we will be inviting and assembling more than 200 architects, urban planners, lighting designers, engineers, and developers; to explore in round table forums the next frontier for lighting in architectural design.
The conference will present over 30 thought leaders and industry practitioners engaging in keynote and panel formats across 12 dedicated sessions. Sessions will explore human-centric and smart lighting for public and private spaces, boutique hotel lighting, design trends (aesthetic and sustainable), carbon-neutral lighting, and strategies for the urban lighting of future cities.
For architects and designers, the conference creates new possibilities for understanding how lighting technology, design aesthetics, and smart urban infrastructure are working together to reimagine modern contexts, from hospitality and retail environments to public spaces and cultural installations.
Southeast Asia’s LED lighting market is projected to exceed USD 3 billion (2022) and expanding naturally by demand associated with smart city initiatives. Lighting is much more than decoration; lighting is now an important element of sustainable and intelligent architecture practice.
