Longboat Key Estate, Designed By Prominent Architect, Listed For $22M
A waterfront estate known as the “House of Columns” on Longboat Key has hit the market. Located on almost 5 acres at 6610 Gulf of Mexico Drive, the house encompasses nearly 7,000 square feet. Also included in the listing is 6630 Gulf of Mexico Drive, where the future owners could build a guest house or secondary structure. The asking price for the combined offering is $22 million.
Built in 2007, the contemporary four-bedroom home at 6610 Gulf of Mexico Drive was designed by architect Carl Abbott, a member of the Sarasota School of Architecture known for relating structure to the environment.
Located along the Sarasota Bay shoreline, the house captures water views through walls of glass that “create a continuous dialogue between interior and exterior,” according to the listing, enhanced by automated shades on all windows and doors that “allow the home to respond intuitively to the changing light of the day.”
Among the highlights are 21-foot ceilings, an elevator, private dock with two boat lifts, lagoon-style pool and garage with room for six cars.
The “House of Columns” is owned by Carolyn Corbino, according to Manatee County property records. The adjacent 0.56-acre parcel at 6630 Gulf of Mexico Drive is owned by Michael Jon Corbino, property records show.
“What ultimately distinguishes this offering is its irreplaceability,” the listing says. “Estates of this size, with this combination of architectural pedigree, boating infrastructure, development flexibility and maintained condition are no longer being created.”

Longboat Key has seen a couple of eight-figure waterfront home sales in recent months. Like the House of Columns, each property has a nickname. Nearby, beachfront estate Ohana sold for $17.5 million in November 2025. The six-bedroom home is situated on 2.67 acres at 6633 Gulf of Mexico Drive. On the southern end of Longboat Key, a six-bedroom beachside mansion known as Serenissima sold for $30.3 million in July 2025. On 1.18 acres, the 19,000-square-foot home at 845 Longboat Club Road, located inside the Longboat Key Club, set a record as the most expensive residence purchased in Sarasota County.
